New Combo Blog

For the few people that actually read this blog, I wanted to let you know that Doug and I have decided to combine our individual blogs into one super-blog. Does this make us an official married couple? I kinda feel like it does...

Weed Assault

We have a weed problem. Now I know what you're thinking (if you have a yard). So what? I have weeds too. Just pull them out!

However, we have been blessed what I refer to as "super weeds". I really feel like I could submit these for some sort of giant weed award. Notice that they are almost as tall as the wall...

Would you like a close-up?Ranger danger helping me out (notice the weeds growing along the grass).
I didn't know you could grow things in the middle of the driveway!

So I spent the morning pulling weeds and spraying roundup over every surface.
Hope it lasts!!!

Jen's Bachelorette

We headed out to Palm Springs last weekend to celebrate Jen's Bachelorette. Of course, we took full advantage of the water camera as we hung out at the pool!

Our bride-to-be, Miss Jennifer Taylor (Soon to be Mrs. Love!)

The whole crew...
We told Jen that she needed to "keep hydrated". This was how she made sure she was drinking enough water.
A few of my other favorite pool photos...

Costa Rica Honeymoon!

Well, we're back from Costa Rica and the fact that I'm officially Mrs. Perry is beginning to settle in :). I also finished up with school, so I'm currently unemployed and have some time to blog! Here's a few of my favorite pictures from the trip... more to come when I steal them from Doug's camera!

We first traveled to Punta Islita, a beach-front resort on the Nicoya Peninsula. It was truly amazing!

The view from our room (hammock included :)

The beach :)

Of course, the hotel also had two infinity pools with swim-up bars. We definitely took advantage of this!

From Punta Islita, we traveled over to the Cloud Forest in Monteverde, where we stayed in a cute little cabin at El Sapo Dorado.

As "Sapo Dorado" means "golden toad," there were lots of 'em all over the property. Doug made friends with one of them...

Doug somehow talked me into ziplining, which was an incredible experience! (See Doug's blog for zipline videos). On the way up in a tram - it started out sunny and beautiful.

Wheee!!!

On our vary last zipline, the sky opened up and it started to pour rain! There's nothing like ziplining through a rainforest in the pouring rain. It was crazy!

After Monteverde, we headed to the Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort, which is located at the foot of the Arenal Volcano. This was the view from our patio - so cool!

We spent a day at the Tabacon hot springs, which are fed by the Arenal Volcano. It was amazing - pools and waterfalls everywhere that were the temperature of a hot tub!

Doug in a waterfall!

Getting our float on...

After Tabacon, we spent one (rainy) night in San Jose before heading back home. Here's a few shots I took from the hotel.

And back to reality... Ranger was glad to have us home (I think that he really just missed begging for food while I cook dinner).

My Shower

My mom's best friend Gail (who I've known since 1st grade) nicely offered to host my bridal shower last weekend. It was so much fun! Here's a few photos from the day...

Like mother, like daughter...

Amy, my wonderful maid of honor, helped Gail with the planning (and made sure that I didn't have to play any cheesy shower games). Thanks Amy!

The Irvine Girls

All of the lovely ladies (mix of friends from elementary school, high, school, college, and LA - it was so fun to have everyone together!).

Baby Doug (aka "Lil Sport"), baby Andrea, and one of our engagement photos were on display.

So many wonderful gifts! Thanks everyone :)

My Beautiful Bridesmaids

While shopping for bridesmaids dresses over the weekend, we ran across these beauties on the clearance rack. Aren't they fantastic? We couldn't resist modeling them!

Bend New Year's

After spending Christmas with my family in Irvine, I headed up to Bend to meet up with Doug and the rest of the Perry's. The trip was filled with firsts:

First snow hike (lesson learned: always wear long underwear).

First time shooting a gun.

First trip to Mt. Bachelor (it was 1 degree when we were driving out there!).

First time skiing (since high school). No action shots since the boys stole the camera for the day, but Tatiana and I totally rocked ski school and "Marshmallow" :)
